Re: What is the scope in Defence Services for Commerce student?
Yes, after completion of your 12th standard you can join in Defence services by appearing in NDA examination. The NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year for the candidates who are interested to join in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. To be eligible to appear for NDA examination, you must have completed 12th standard or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised board. But, you cannot apply for IAS, IPS, IFS examinations after completion of your 12th standard because the minimum educational qualification required to appear for these examinations is completion of Graduation degree from a recognised university. So, after completion of your Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university, you are eligible to appear for Civil Services examination.

Re: What is the scope in Defence Services for Commerce student?
No,you are not eligible to apply for IAS, IPS, Indian Forest Services, Air Force or Indian Navy with just “12th standard” qualification. Yes to be eligible for all the defense sector examinations, you must have to complete “Bachelor Degree”.So Unless you complete your Bachelor Degree or Graduation you are not eligible to apply for such kind of Defense sector job entrance examinations. But you can still apply for National Defense Academy NDA exam, for which the educational qualification needed is “Intermediate” obtained from a recognized university / Institute.
So the age limits for NDA exam is 16.5 years to 19 years and only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for.And I recommend you to study “Bachelor Degree” so that you can apply for the courses which you mentioned earlier. You may opt for Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts, BA in English, Economics, History, Or Bachelor in Accounting and Finance, and Bachelor of Computer Applications or CA or CS courses to be eligible for the examinations of IAS, IPS, Indian Navy, Indain Forest Services. |
