To be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced examination, you must qualify JEE Main examination and you should be among top 1,50,000 performers among all category candidates who have appeared for JEE Main examination. And you must have secured 75% (70% for SC/ST) marks in your 12th standard board examinations or you must be in top 20 percentile of high scorers of your 12th state board examinations. So, to be eligible to appear for JEE advanced examination, you must qualify JEE Main examination and you should be among top 1,50,000 performers among all category candidates who have appeared for JEE Main examination.

To be eligible for JEE Advanced exam, you should be one among top 1,50,000 rankers including all the categories of the JEE Main examination. But, there will be no minimum marks, which you have to secure in JEE Main exam. So, You should to get a rank, which was less than 1,50,000 by scoring good marks. So, that you can become eligible for JEE Advanced examination.
