i want to do msc in biochemistry in mumbai or kolkata.my final year reasult is not declear yet. i think in total my percentage will be in between 45%-50% in BSC Biochemistry honours from culcutta university.my question is that, am i ellegible for doing msc in biochemistry from mumbai or kolkata's colleges

For admission to M.Sc Bio-Chemistry Course of University of Mumbai, Science graduates of the University of Mumbai or of any other recognized Universities can apply. The students are eligible for admission to the M.Sc course if they should have secured at least second class marks i.e. 55% and above for Open Category students and 50% and above for Reserved Category as per University norms at the B.Sc., examination level.

For admission to the M.Sc Bio-Chemistry course of Calcutta University a prospective student should have B. Sc. with Honours in Chemistry / Biochemistry. Students who have done
B. Sc. with Honours in Zoology, Botany, Physiology, Microbiology (applicable only for for Calcutta University students) for them Chemistry as one of the General (Pass) subjects is essential. A student should have Biology at the +2 level with 60% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility for M.Sc. Biochemistry in Calcutta University

B.Sc Hons. in chemistry/biochemistry
Chemistry as one of the subjects at undergraduate level with an aggregate of 60%.
OR
S.Sc. Hons. in zoology/botany/physiology/microbiology (for CU students only)

Eligibility for M.Sc. biochemistry in Mumbai university

B.Sc. with chemistry as principal subject
Chemistry major (7/8 units) with biochemistry(3 units)
OR
Minimum of 7 units in chemistry, 7 units in any biological science
OR
4 units in chemistry, 3 units in biochemistry and 7 units in any one of the biological science.

No, you have to give Gate exam after that if you qualify you can do M.tech but some other colleges conducting their own exam for M.tech that you can search on the google. I think that only 4 year programe in engineering ,technology B.tech can apply for Gate after graduation and simple 3 year B.Sc program can apply it after M.Sc.

can students of other college apart from mumbai and kolkata can apply for M.sc in biochemistry

The eligibility for Bio Chemistry in calcutta university is as follows.
chemistry as a general subject should be there at the under graduate level with 60% in aggregate in 10+2.
For mumbai university for general it is 55% in bsc and 50% for reserved candidates.

Sice you have completed your PG you can either go for research work, join academics or join industry.These are the available option to you.
