Introduction to information Technology is a subject in the first semester of the BCA course offered by PTU. The exam of this paper is a general three hours exam with a total of 60 marks. This paper normally has 2 sections. Section A should be answered which is compulsory and consists of objective questions only and 20 marks for this section. Four out of six questions must be answered from section B. 10 marks for every question makes it a long answer section. The main topics are computer fundamentals, study of I/O devices, Primary and Secondary Memories, Operating systems, DOS, application of computers, computers and communication etc. Below are attached some of the previous year's question papers. Single User System :- Single User System may be defined as the sytem which can handle only one user for working at a time on the computer system .No other user can work simultaneously on the system . eg DOS(Disk Operating System).
