K.V. Ranga Reddy District also called as R.R. District or Ranga Reddy is a district in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and the district was formed in the year 1978 when it was split from the district of Hyderabad. The district is spread over an area of 7493 km2 and it has a population of more than 3 crore people. The administrative centre of the district is the city of Hyderabad and out of the 23 district in the state of AP, it is the most populous district. Official language of the district is Telugu and the district is bounded by district like Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Gulbarga and Medak to its four sides. The total number of 1055 villages in the district is grouped under 37 mandals.
