Each and every year Maharashtra – Master of Computer Application - Common Entrance Test (MAH MCA CET) is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra for those candidates who wants to take admission in to Master of Computer Applications course in various MCA colleges of Maharashtra. Students from all over India can apply for MAH-CET.  Outside Maharashtra students can take admission through AIMCET merit. For participating in this exam the candidates have to fill an application form and submit it within the given date. A large number of candidates from all over Maharashtra and rest of India apply for MAH MCA CET.

Institutes under this examination:

For admission in the Mater of Computer Application programs in different Government, University Managed and Unaided Institutes of Maharashtra, applicants must have to secure sufficient marks in the above mentioned exam. There are 113 institutes of different universities in Maharashtra in which admission is through MAH-CET. All these institutes have an intake capacity of about 25-60 seats.  These institutes are well recognized by the state university and government of India. The campus environment of various colleges is best for studying and also have very beautifully maintained infrastructure. The colleges provide facilities like modern classrooms, laboratories which are equipped with the necessary equipments, workshops, high tech and up to date libraries, an auditorium and a conference hall.

Popularity of the exam:

Every year a large number of interested students are applying for MAH MCA CET and that creates high level of competition amongst them because the seats are limited in various postgraduate institutes of Maharashtra. Even candidates from outside of Maharashtra can appear for MAH MCA CET but their admission depends on the rules of particular university/institute.

Eligibility criteria:

To apply for MAH-MCA-CET a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for Maharashtra Backwards Classes). Those in the final year of their graduation can also apply.

Availability of Application forms for MAH-MCA-CET:

The application forms and other useful materials for MAH CET are expected to be available by February in the designated post offices across Maharashtra and also from Bhopal, Ahmadabad, Kolkata and Delhi. After buying the application form candidates have to apply online at www.dte.org.in/mca.

Important Dates (Tentative):

Date of Entrance Examination: 1st week of March, 2011

Availability of Application Forms: 2nd week of February-3rd week of February, 2011

Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: third week of February, 2011

Examination pattern:

The Entrance exam will be divided into two parts of 1 hour each. First Paper will be General Aptitude and second will be Computer Awareness. General Aptitude Paper will consist of Questions from the following: logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, high school mathematics, vocabulary, English comprehension and verbal ability. There will also be negative marking of 1/4th marks.
