Qualifying Exam

Candidates who want to become a Pisciculturist should first obtain Bachelor degree in Fishery Science. Then they should obtain Master’s degree in Fishery Science. After completing this two year course one can join as pisciculturist in any governmental or non governmental organization in the fishery industry. Pisciculturist needs much experience in the field to excel in their career.

Who are eligible to apply?

Those who have completed plus two with fifty percent marks can pursue bachelor’s degree course in fishery science. They should have studied biology as one of the subjects during their plus two course. Candidates who want to pursue bachelor’s degree course in fishery science should qualify the All India level common entrance test conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Some institutes will conduct separate entrance test for the intake of eligible candidates to the bachelor’s degree course in fishery science. Some others will give admission on the basis of the mark obtained in the qualifying examination. Candidates can pursue Master’s degree course only after completing this four year bachelor’s degree course. Such candidates should qualify the entrance test conducted by the institute which offers the Master’s degree course.
