Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) was established in the year 1951 as an education and research institution. The institute aims to provide higher education in the field of engineering, technology and management. The institute has an academic staff of 470 personnel and administrative staff of 2403 people. The campus of the institute is spreaded in an area of 2100 acres. Mr. Arun Kumar Majumdar is the Deputy Director of the institute while Mr. Damodar Acharya is on the position of Director. Initially the institute was established with the aim of training scientists and engineers after India attained independence.

Job Profile:

Eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the following vacant faculty positions of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur). The vacancies are availbale in the departments of Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics & Meteorology, Agricultural and Food Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture and regional Planning etc.

All the posts are available in the centres i.e. Advanced Technology Department, Educational Technology, Oceans, Rivers, Atmosphere and Land Sciences, Cryogenic Engineering, Materials Science, Rural Development, Rubber Technology, P. K. Sinha Centre for Bio Energy and Reliability Engineering.

1. Recruitment of Professor:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline with minimum 60% marks or equivalent at the preceeding degree in an appropriate branch. Candidates are required to have a good academic record throughout. Minimum 10 years of teaching or research or indurstrial experience is required for the specified post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10500.

2. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline with minimum 60% marks or equivalent at the preceeding degree in an appropriate branch. Candidates are required to have a good academic record throughout. Minimum 6 years of teaching or research or indurstrial experience is required for the specified post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9500.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline with minimum 60% marks or equivalent at the preceeding degree in an appropriate branch. Candidates are required to have a good academic record throughout. Minimum 3 years of teaching or research or indurstrial experience is required for the specified post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8000.

Selection Process:

Selection process for the above specified faculty positions is comprises of a Personal Interview Test only. Candidates are required to perform well in the test for ensuring their selection on the desired position.
