Selection procedure for the Specialist Officer in SBI is carried out on the basis of Written Test and Personal Interview. Written test will be conducted online and it will contain objective type questions. Candidates are required to apply online through the official website of the bank.
Selection Procedure for Specialist Officer in State Bank of India
Recruitment to the post of Specialist Officer in State Bank of India is carried out on the performance in Written Test and Personal Interview. Unlike other nationalised bank exams, written test is conducted online. Questions will be in multiple choice objective type formats. There will be questions from the following topics.
- English Language
- Logical Reasoning Ability
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Professional Knowledge
There will be negative marking for wrong answer. .25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Medium of instructions will be in Hindi as well as in English Language. Candidates can choose any of these languages to answer questions except that from English. There will be sectional cut off for all topics except Professional Knowledge. The bank will decide about the minimum mark required to qualify each section. All papers except Professional Knowledge are qualifying in nature. Candidates are required to score maximum marks in Professional Knowledge so as to be short listed for final interview. Most of the questions will be asked from subject oriented topics.
Those who have cleared the online written examination will be short listed for personal interview as per their rankings in Written Test. Candidates can expect questions from academics and terms related to banking. Final selection will be based on composite scores obtained in Written Test as well as Personal Interview.
Application procedure for Specialist Officer in SBI
Eligible candidates are required to apply online from the official website of the Bank. Those who have successfully registered online will be asked to pay application fee of Rs. 500/-. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe are required to pay Rs. 50/- only. Application fee can be paid in online or offline mode. Those who wish to pay offline are required to download fee payment challan from the website. Such candidates can make their fee payment via any of the branches of the bank. Others can make the payment using Debit cards.
Candidates will be asked to upload scanned copies of recent passport size photograph and signature. They should have a valid email id. Those who have successfully submitted the application form will receive system generated completed application form. Candidates are required to take a print out of completed application form and keep it safe for future reference.
