Smt. Chinnamma Basappa Patil Degree College of Arts & Commerce came into existence in the year 1983 on the month of June and the institution was established by the HKE Society located at Gulbarga. The college is offering arts and commerce education with affiliation from the Gulbarga University.

Chinnamma Basappa Patil Degree College of Arts & Commerce is approved with an intake capacity of 400, 80 and 100 students respectively for arts, science and commerce courses per year.

College library:

Smt. Chinnamma Basappa Patil Degree College is functioning from its own building and the library has a collection of more than 12000 books and more than 50 journals and magazines related to cultural, economical, literature and social field. The library also has a collection of daily magazines and newspapers. With the view to help the students, library is kept open from 8.00 am and 6.00 pm on all working days and particularly during the period of examination, the library is kept open till late nights for enabling the students to refer books immediately.

Sports activities at the college:

Smt. Chinnamma Basappa Patil Degree College has a separate sports room and the department of sports at the college conducts several sports activities for developing the student ethically, socially and culturally. Students of the college has won several awards in inter-collegiate competitions conducted by the Gulbarga University because of the best sports coaching offered to the interested students of the college.
