Sri Gadadhar Acharya Janta College, shortly called as G.J. College was established in the year 1959 and it is a constituent unit of Magadh University situated at Bodhgaya. Initially, in the year 1959, the college was permitted by Bihar University to offer Bachelor of Arts courses and in the year 1965, the college was offered permission by Magadh University to start honors courses in Hindi, political science and economics. The college began to offer science courses from the academic year 1969-70.

Sri Gadadhar Acharya Janta College is provided with a well-stocked library which includes all types of reference books, magazines and journals on different subjects, CD and DVD pertaining to different subjects and these services are offered with a view to keep the students updated about their field of education. The students are also allowed to borrow books from the library.

Internet facility in the college:

Sri Gadadhar Acharya Janta College is provided with eight Mbps internet connection and the computers are connected through Wi-Fi connection to the central server. With the help of the internet facility, students are allowed to access previous year question papers, study materials, e-books, etc…and the facility is available to the students all through the day.
