The TKM in the name of TKM Institute of Technology stands for Thangal Kunju Musaliar and the institute was established in the year 2002 by the TKM Trust for imparting quality education to the aspiring minds and growing youth who have decided to take up technical education as their path towards excellence. The AICTE and Cochin University of Science & Technology has approved the institution.

TKM institute is offering technical courses of Bachelor and Master of Technology in the branches given below:
• B. Tech in

o Electronics & bio-medical engineering
o Electronics & instrumentation engineering
o Information technology
o Electronics & communication engineering
o Computer science & engineering
• M. Tech in
o Software engineering
o Computer & information science
o VLSI & embedded systems
Eligibility for UG admission:
Candidates must have completed their 10+2 from the board of higher education of Kerala or equivalent examination with chemistry, physics & mathematics by securing 50% of aggregate marks in chemistry, physics and mathematics and 50% of marks in mathematics alone. Candidates with diploma in engineering from the technical education board of Kerala or any other approved board with minimum 50% of marks in the final year of their diploma course can also apply.
Admission Procedure:
Out of the total number of 60 seats for each branch of engineering 30 seats are filled on the basis of Common Entrance Examination conducted by Controller of Examination and remaining 30 seats are filled through management quota.
Facilities in the institute:
The TKM Institute of Technology offers several facilities like accommodation, knowledge center & library, browsing & computer centre, amenity centre, multi-gym and health club, training & placement cell, soft skill training and canteen facilities to the students.
Career & guidance cell:
The career & guidance cell of the institute works in liaison with the training & placement cell to offer guidance to the students in finding suitable placement.
