Velammal College of Engineering and Technology was opened in 2007 at Temple city of Madurai in Tamilnadu. This is a self financing institute and is affiliated to Anna University, Tirunelveli. The college belongs to the group of Velammal Education Trust and is founded by Shri M.V.Muthuramalingam, its chairman. Within a short span of time, this institute has gained reputation in that area and is producing excellent education for generating good and moral engineers to the society.

Library:

The college library contains more than 11,000 books on various subjects of study. Around 30 international and 72 national periodicals and magazines are available here. The digital library holds over 1,000 CD for the benefit of the students. The students need not buy any reference books and can be borrowed from this library.

Transport:

VCET provides bus and van facility free of cost for its teaching staff. The students can avail this facility at reasonable cost and all major parts of the city are covered by the bus service.

Hostel:

The hostel service accommodates around 600 boys and 300 girls and the rooms are spacious and clean. Separate mess for Vegetarians and Non-vegetarians are offered in the hostel.

Training & Placement Cell:

The placement cell of this college guides and counsels the students for the upcoming jobs. The companies are invited to the campus where they are provided with the list of students who are willing and capable for placement. The company recruits the students after conducting interview at the college campus. The website reveals the list of students placed in TCS and Accenture for the past two years.
