The University of Hyderabad conducts an admission test for offering the Ph. D based course in the Statistics Paper. The Question Paper is of two hours in duration and carries a maximum mark of Seventy-five. The paper is divided into two Parts namely Part A and Part B. Part A is an Objective based questions section which contains around twenty-five question. Each of the questions has four options and carries maximum of one mark. Each of the incorrectly answered questions fetches a negative marking of one-third.

Part B is a subjective type question based section, with a total of seventeen questions. Candidates can attempt as many number of questions they can from the section. Marks distribution of the questions in this section varies from a maximum of ten to a minimum of five, with six as well as eight moderately offered. The maximum marks that can be achieved in this part are fifty. No negative marking is observed in Part B though. Candidates are advised to go through a large number of Mock based questions papers as well as suggestions in order to secure a very high mark in the exam.
