AIM i.e. Army Institute of Management is considered to be amongst the best institutes in India for management education.  Admission in to AIM is based on CAT percentile and Personal Interview + Group Discussion. Students need to fill an application form in order to register their names for the CAT exams.

Army Institute of Management (AIM), Kolkata was established by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) in 1997 to provide management education for wards of Army Personnel and other general candidates as well. AIM has been recognized by AICTE and is affiliated to West Bengal Institute of Technology (WBUT). The fees for the complete course is subsidized by AWES therefore are much less compared to other management institutes. AIM has become a ranked B-School in the Country.

Campus:

Army Institute of Management is managed by Indian Army so has the best facilities and discipline. It has a fully residential eco-friendly campus with good infrastructure. The forms from AIM will be available directly through AIM, Kolkata or can be obtained by sending a request for the form along with a Demand Draft to AIM, Kolkata.

Important Dates (Tentative):

Availability of forms-end of 1st week of October-end of the month of November, 2010

Last Date for receipt of form-fourth week of November, 2010

CAT exam dates: 28th November-first week of December, 2010

CAT Result declaration: last week of February, 2011

Eligibility criteria:

To apply for AIM a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with atleast 50% marks. Those in the final year of their graduation can also apply.

Selection procedure:

Candidates are shortlisted for admission to AIM on the basis of their CAT scores therefore all the candidates seeking admission must appear for CAT. The shortlisted candidates are then called for General Discussion and Personal Interviews at later stage. There are 120 students in each batch.

Additional weightage is given to wards of gallantry award winners and war widows.
