Allergist - How to become an Allergist?
Physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating allergic diseases are referred to as Allergist. They also deal with various immunologic disorders and allergies caused due to food, dust, medication, etc. These medical professionals analyze the routine actions done by the patient, his home and work environment, before starting their medical treatment. Apart from offering medical treatment, these professionals suggest medication, and other environmental control recommendations to aspirants. Some of the Allergist specialize in problems related to children where as some others deals with adult disorders. The candidate should gain adequate medical knowledge and skills to get in to the role of an Allergist.
Qualifying Exam
Allergy/Immunology is a specialization course in medicine. The candidate should possess minimum MBBS degree to pursue the postgraduate level course. The qualification must be obtained from any of the medical colleges listed under Medical Council of India. Upon completion of the course study and internship the candidate can go with specialization in the area of Allergy/Immunology. Those who pass this level can apply for the job position of Allergist in various multi level hospitals offering the same. Anyway, they have to pass the recruiting test carried out by public or private sector enterprises to get in to the job.
Who are eligible to apply?
Pass in 10+2 class studies with science as the main subject is the qualification requirement for MBBS degree. Those who get through MD/MS course in Allergy and Immunology can get in to the role of Allergist in reputed hospitals and health care centers.
