AP Sen Memorial Girls College came into existence in the year 1902 with its name as Mahakali Pathshala. The institution began its journey as a girls’ school and later in the year 1933, it earned recognition from the Uttar Pradesh Board to offer high school and intermediate courses. In the year 1947, the institution advanced to the stage of inter college and it became degree college in the year 1955. Right from this period, the college is affiliated to the Lucknow University till date.

Eligibility Criteria:

Every student seeking admission to the Bachelor of Arts course in AP Sen Memorial College, must have completed their intermediate examination from the Uttar Pradesh Board or equivalent examination from any board approved the Lucknow university. Candidates seeking admission to the Master of Arts courses, must have completed their Bachelor of Arts from any university in the same branch of arts for which they are seeking admission.

Subject combination for the Bachelor of Arts course:

Admission to the Bachelor of Arts course is offered in two groups and candidates will have to choose one subject from each group and remaining one subject from either of the two groups. Here are the details about the groups: Group A includes English, Hindi, Archeology, Sociology, Political Science and Anthropology and Group B includes economics, ancient Indian history, Sanskrit, economics, education and History & culture of Asian People. However, certain subject combinations are not permitted and they are economics and political science, English, Sanskrit & Hindi and ancient history, Archeology & Asian Culture. Students cannot change the subject combination once admission is offered with a specific subject combination.

Facilities offered to the students:

A number of cells like aids awareness cell, career counseling cell and grievance redreassal cell are functioning in the college to offer effective support to the students. In addition to these, students are encouraged to participate in the National Service Scheme, National Cadet Core and several extra-curricular activities taking place in the college.
