Assam government is conducting a joint admission test B.Tech for admitting candidates to the various engineering colleges of the state every year. Admission to most of the engineering colleges in Assam is through this joint admission test. The courses offered by these colleges are:

Structure of Assam JAT B.Tech
The question paper will have three sections for the joint admission test. The question paper will have questions from the following subjects:
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry
Each section will carry questions for hundred marks. The questions in the question paper need to be attempted within three hours. The questions will be of subjective and MCQ type. That is there are questions to be answered in more than 100 words.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant should be living in Assam permanently and should be an Indian national.
- Applicant must have completed the 10+2 with more than 50% marks. In the case of SC / ST students 45%marks is the minimum mark required for the 10+2 exam.
- Applicant should have completed 10+2 with Phyics, Maths and Chemistry.
How to Apply?
Candidates can apply for Assam Joint Admission Test in both ways, i.e. by online and offline modes. Candidates can get the application form from the following colleges:

- Silchar Polytechnic
Candidates can also get the application form through post. For that candidates need to pay the fee as DD to the Principal of the Engineering College to which he / she is sending the request letter.
How to fill the Form?
Make sure everything in the application form is filled completely. No columns should be kept as blank. Read all the information thoroughly before filling the form. Candidates can ask for parental guidance if it seem difficult. Marking and scribbling in the application forms should be avoided. If any such things are seen in the application form, then it will lead to the rejection of the form.

Notification about the sale of application form will be published in the Assam Gazettee- In the Month of February, 2012
