The education department of Pondicherry government usually conduct an M.Tech entrance exam for selecting candidates for the M.Tech course in various colleges under the government of Pondicherry and also for many other self financing colleges. As this exam is considered to be prestigious exam, many eligible students from all over the country attend this exam. They attend this exam to get admission in M.Tech course in the reputed colleges of Pondicherry.

Structure of CENTAC M.Tech Exam

The selection of the candidate will be based on his / her marks in the GATE exam or in the CENTEC exam. The exam will consist of questions from general aptitude, English and from the subjects, the candidate has studied during his / her B.Tech degree course. The questions will carry one mark each and there will be negative marking for wrong answers.

Eligibility Criteria for CENTAC M.Tech Exam

  • Any candidate who has passed B.Tech can apply for this exam.
  • Only candidates who have studied B.Tech in the regular stream can only apply for this exam.
  • The college in which the candidate has studied should be an AICTE approved one.
  • Final year engineering students with no back papers can also apply.
  • Minimum percentage of marks required for the passed candidates is 55%.

How to Apply for CENTAC M.Tech Exam?

Candidates applying for M.Tech course will have to attend the GATE exam. The score from that exam will be considered first. If the number of seats available is more, then the candidates from this CENTAC M.Tech Exam will be selected. Candidates can buy forms from:

The cost of the form is Rs 530 for the general candidates and for SC/ST candidates it is Rs 155. Online application form can be also submitted.

How to fill the form for CENTAC M.Tech Exam?

Filling the form is as important as writing the exam. Any mistakes in the exam will lead to loss of marks, but in the case of filling of form, the whole form will be rejected. Many students in the past have not be able to attend the exams due this recklessness in filling the form. Many questions in the application form like the center code etc are very important. Writing the center code wrongly will lead you to write the exam in any other place far from your home town.
