Indian Navy is one of the largest defense forces in the world. There are several job vacancies in Indian Navy for various posts. Indian Navy Sailors Direct Entry Recruitment Exam is conducted by India Navy for the selection of candidates for the Sailors posts. The exam is conducted two times in every year. The job in Indian navy is a highly prestigious job. Large numbers of candidates have a wish to have a job in India Navy. Numerous candidates apply for the test each year.

Structure of Indian Navy Sailors Direct Entry Recruitment Exam

The recruitment of the candidates for the Sailors post in Navy is mainly on the basis of a written test and Physical Fitness Test. Those who pass the Physical test are invited for the written test. In the written test the questions are asked from four different sections. It includes questions from the subjects of English, General Knowledge, Science and Mathematics. The time given for completing the exam will be of one hour. The marks awarded for the exam is 200 marks. Those who pass the written test will have to attend for the medical test. The candidates who qualify on all the tests will be selected for joining Indian Navy Force.

Syllabus for Indian Navy Sailors Direct Entry Recruitment Exam

The Physical tests comprises of the following

  • One Mile (1.6 km) run to be completed in 7 minutes
  • 20 sit ups
  • 10 push ups

The written test consists of questions from four areas. The questions are expected from the plus two level standards.

  • Section I: English

  • Section IV: GK

The written test consists of questions from five different sections. The questions are asked from the following topics.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have to satisfy certain eligibility criteria for attending for the Indian Navy Sailors Direct Entry Recruitment Exam. The candidates should be a citizen of India or Nepal. Only bachelor male candidates can apply for the test. They have to complete their Higher Secondary examination with 50% marks in Mathematics and Physics. They should also secure 55% marks in their tenth standard. The candidates who have good Computer Knowledge will be given special preference. The candidates should be between the age group of 17 and 20 years. They should possess certain medical standards like they should have 157cms height and the weight of the candidates should be proportionate to the height. The candidates should have good physical and mental health.

How to Apply?

The Navy Sailors Direct Entry Recruitment will be published in all leading news papers of India. The candidates can prepare the application form in the prescribed format. The candidates have to prepare the application form as per the format given in the notification.  The candidates can type the application form or prepare it in a hand written form. The SC/ST/PH candidates and the female candidates have not paid any exam fee for applying the test. Others have to send a Central recruitment stamp from any Post office with the application form.

How to fill the Form?

The candidates can prepare the application form as per the format prescribed in the notification. The application form can be either in a hand written form or in a typed form. The form should be filled correctly by the candidates. The form should be filled using a ball point pen. The data entered in the form should be using a black pen. The candidates name and signature should be entered in the column provided for that. The Central recruitment Fee Stamp should be send with the form. The form not as the prescribed format will be rejected. The form should be forwarded with all needed documents.  The form received after the due date will not be accepted.

The candidates have to be well prepared for attending the Indian Navy Sailors Recruitment Exam. The candidates can collect the syllabus of the exam from the website.
