Is diploma students eligible to appear for IIT entrance exam? Can you please let me know the eligibility criteria which is required for doing the diploma course? It will be helpful if you can answer me back soon as possible. Thank you!

You have completed diploma course so you are eligible for JEE Mains exam.

If you have completed 12th standard from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and mathematics with above 50% marks then you are eligible for JEE mains exam. 5% marks relaxation is provided for SC/ST category.

Yes, Diploma holders are eligible to appear in JEE Main and Advance examination. Candidates who have completed three years Diploma in Engineering course or 12th standard with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects from a recognised board are eligible to appear in JEE Main examination and candidates those who have qualified and secured top 1,50,000 rank in JEE Main examination are eligible to appear in JEE Advance examination.

As per my knowledge you need to appear in the Lateral Entry Entrance exam to get admission directly in 2nd year of Engineering Course.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the entrance exam conducted by IIT for B.Tech admission.

But only candidates who have passed 12th with PCM with minimum 50% are eligible for JEE.

This will leaves out diploma holders because diploma is not equivalent to 12th & IIT also doesn't offers lateral entry scheme.

Diploma is 3 years duration course.
Matriculation is the minimum qualification for pursuing diploma.

You must have minimum 40% in matriculation examination without any pending backlog in order to get admission for diploma course.

And let me clear you that you will not get admission in IIT after diploma. To get admission in IIT, you must have pursued 12th science with PCM subjects. But 12th & diploma is not equivalent. So, after diploma you will not get admission in IIT. But after diploma you can appear for B.Tech by lateral entry in another universities apart from IITs & NITs.

If you really want to join IIT. Then don't go for diploma after 10th. Go for 12th science. Because 12th science with PCM is the basic qualification for JEE entrance exam to get admission in IIT.

The examination is conducted by CBSE and IIT every year. The eligibility to appear for entrance examination is candidate must have passed 10+2 from any recognised board with PCB/PCM as main paper.

The eligibility to appear for IIT JEE examination is :-

Candidate must have passed or pursuing 10+2 from a recognised board.

Candidate must have PCM as main paper in 10+2.

So, you are not eligible to appear for entrance examination. The examination is conducted in two stage as Main and Advance and candidate have to qualify in both stage for final selection.
