How to get direct second year admission in NIT for Diploma holder?


I have pass out DME. I want to know if i can get direct admission in second year engineering in NIT?

No, you cannot get direct admission in second year of Engineering course in NIT after completion of your three years Diploma course because, NITs does not offers Lateral Entry admissions in Engineering course. Admissions to Engineering course in NIT are offered only to candidates those who have completed 12th standard with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects from a recognised board and those who have appeared, qualified and secured good rank in JEE Main examination.

NITs don't have any lateral entry admission process and there are no seats alloyed for direct 2nd year admission. Hence, you have to look for other colleges or institutes if you want lateral entry admission.

There are other colleges in India which offer admission based on lateral entry exam like JELET and LEET.
