Eligibility requirements for IAS(Indian Administrative Services) and IPS(Indian Police Services) officer. The exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission).

* Candidates should be the citizen of India.
* Candidates should complete graduation from recognized university.
* You should have age limit within 21 to 30 years.
* For OBC category age limit 21 to 33 years
* For SC/ST category age limit 21 to 35 years.
* Final year candidates are also eligible.

Attempts:

* For general - 4 attempts
* For OBC - 7 attempts
* For SC/ST - No limit

Procedure:

Every year govt. of india put the exams for recruitment of ias and ips.
so they only need that student just hold degree is fully eligable for that and also minimum score in their degree course should be minimum 55%.

latest in delhi(upsc for ias and ips) and gpsc(for ips) exams are running on.

you just need to daily refer newspapers for this type of recruitments or just daily check govt.jobs on internet.

the course with full subjects will be provided on recruitment website of ias and ips.

so after your getting graduation,apply for that when recruitment date take place.

what is syllabus of IAS IPS

Yes you can apply for IAS.

Any graduated can apply for IAS.

You need to choose optional subjects which is your choice and you can take any subject according to your interest. Next thing is general studies, English, current events of national and international.

These are the basic syllabus.

For IAS and IPS, you will have to appear for Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
Since you are a graduate, you are eligible for the exam provided you are within the age limit of 21-30 years. The maximum age limit is relaxed up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 3 years for OBC's.
Since the examination for IAS and IPS is common, the candidates who scores highest are elected for IAS and other qualified candidate are selected for IPS.
The selection procedure comprises of three stages
Preliminary Exam- Civil Service Aptitude Test
Main examination
Interview

To become an IAS / IPS officer, you have to appear in Civil Service Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission:- UPSC once in a year.

Eligibility requirements to join IAS / IPS:

> You should have qualified in Graduation degree course in any specialization from recognized institute.

> You can also apply while in final years of above such program.

> There is no restriction on percentage.

> Your Age must be with in 21 to 30years(for OBC- 21 to 33years & for SC/ST -21 to 35years)

Exam Pattern :




You can choose any course for Degree programme as there is no restriction on Graduation stream for IAS / IPS.

So You are free to choose any stream which you want.

After 12th please complete your degree course in any suitable stream after that you will be eligible to become an IAS / IPS officer by appearing in Civil Service Exam.

First of all you need not appear for IAS and IPS separately

You need to appear for civil service examination conducted by UPSC

Based on the final merit ( after qualifying preliminary, mains and interview) you are given rank such as IAS, IPS, IFS etc based on your rank

The following are some of the eligibility for UPSC

You should be Indian
You should have done your graduation from well recognized college institute ( marks or percentage not mentioned, so it could be even just pass)
your age should be between 21-30 years
relaxation of 5 year for SC/ST and 3 year for OBC

Dear Friend,

IAS officers along with 26 other civil services officers are recruited through civil services examination which is conducted by UPSC once a year.

There is no percentage requirement for this examination.

So, you can definitely apply for this examination.

IAS exams pattern is as follow:-

The Interview

the interview calls are sent in March-April of the following year and they take place in the month of April-May. The Board of interviewers looks for a well-adjusted personality with the social traits, integrity and qualities of leadership. PS. The number of candidates called for the interview is normally twice the number of vacancies.
