Congratulations on your rank. It is an achievement indeed.
You will certainly get the branch of your choice..usually rankers under 5000 get to select the branch of their choice so you have nothing to worry about during the counselling session.

Hello Ameya Pendbhaje,

I regret to inform you that you have no chance of admission in VIT university with the rank you have got as the candidates with rank under 20000 have been called for the counselling and the seats will be occupied by them.

However, you may study hard and try to get admission in good universities such as SRM,BITS,Manipal, etc.

Hello !

Although you have been selected for the counselling, i think the only courses you will be offered in the vellore campus are Biology related courses and all other math related courses(Computer science, electrical, IT, civil, mechanical) will be gone under 12000 rank.

You may however get a decent branch in the chennai campus.

Hi

The cutoff marks for any competitive examination is decided by the relative performance or a rank system. More important than scoring a particular mark is to get a good rank in these exams.

VITEEE exam pattern:
The VITEEE 2013 will be a computer based test(CBT). The exam pattern is as follows:

• Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark.
• Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. You will have to choose the correct answer and click the same.
• No negative marks for wrong answers.

The exam will be of 120 marks in total. The results of VITEEE exam so far has only be released in terms of "ranks" and not marks. So it is not quite possible for one to estimate the exact mark for getting a seat in VIT.

I would only suggest that you work hard and give it your best shot. Do not think of the cut off mark yet. You can think about all this after the exam.
