i did my mba marketing from a pvt college (not affiliated to any of IGNOU , UGC or AICTE ) in pune in 2008, since then i am working with a bank. Now i wish to do phd course in management. pls guide. Will i have to my mba again from a recognized college again? Can i do saomething realated to my banking experience ?

u have done ur MBA in finance now u want to do ur phd . now i will suggest u that u should do phd in finance because it was ur major subject in mba . u can do ur phd from IIM'S,IIT'S, XLRI n any other good university .

Hi i had my MBA(mktg ) in 2010. Now i am working in banking sales. i want to do my Ph.d in marktng at IBS.Some people are saying it is not recognised by AICTE so that its phd degree doesnt have the value outside. IBS is not providimg any placement assistance for phds. Kindly can any one give me clarification on this isuue .

As if My Knoweldge is concern there are 2 types of admitions are going on
1) Full time - Any Universtiy is offers provided if prof. are avialable in the Management department with regular course
2) Part time- Any University its like correspondence

Admition criteria is depends on NET/SLET/university Norms

Since you did you core specialisation in Finance, I assume that you want to do phd in finance areas. Now for doing phd, we need to look at different things - do you want to do in abroad or India, if India do you want to target premier institutions or other univerisities etc. ISB, IIT Mumbai, ICFAIN Hyderabad offer well know phd programs in Finance. Now you can look for different areas like portfolio management, economics, financial management, risk management and so on. There are many universities in India which offer phd program in Finance. So it is a broad question and you may need to give some more choices like location, area of interest etc to suggest better programs.

I want to know whether a B.Com MBA Finance graduate will get much preference rather than a B.Tech MBA Finance graduate in finance sector.
