The NET Exam is conducted twice in a year by the University Grants Commission [UGC].

The Full Form of NET is National Eligibility Test. This Test is conducted for the selection of candidates for the below mentioned posts :

1) Lectureship

2) Junior research Fellowship

The University Grants Commission conducts the NET Exam in the months of June and December every year.

The Qualifications required for the NET Examination are :

** The candidate must have completed Post Graduation in any stream from any UGC recognized university.

** The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Post Graduation.

** The candidate must not have any pending backlogs.

** Candidates in final year of Post Graduation are considered eligible.

** A relaxation of 5% marks is given to SC/ST Candidates.

** No relaxation in marks is granted to OBC Candidates by the UGC.

** There is no age limit for the Lectureship post.

** The age limit for the JRF post is 21-28 years.

** Age Relaxation :

a) 3 years granted for OBC Candidates.

b) 5 years granted for SC/ST Candidates.

** The candidate must be an Indian.

eligibility for net :

must have completed post graduation from a recognized university

must have scored minimum 55% in graduation

5% marks relaxation for sc/st students

final year post graduation students allowed for net

no upper age limit for lecturership

upper age limit for jrf is 28 years

marks relaxation is only for sc/st student s
