I think, BITS Pilani is a good college, and it is better than VIT.
Placement wise as well as Academics wise Bits Pilani is the best colleges. So, i will suggest you just go for Bits Pilani. But, its your own decision. So please go for according to your choice. Both the colleges are good, but Bits are better option than VIT.......... |

Alright! After going through all the above threads, i just want to say that just give your opinion about the college, don't try to be smart and say anything bullshit about the other college. Pls. be sensible if you are among the best engg. college of india. People here seek advice, so advice them properly.
In my opinion as of now BITS Pilani is really a very good college in all aspects, its just that one need to consider his/her future goals while taking admission. On the other hand, VIT, Vellore is one of the reputed and good engineering college, only known for B.Tech course. So, at this time just think in terms of getting better knowledge and research facilities, not the job. And, people who made stupid comments about any college are biggest stupid and don't deserve to be an Engineer, Better they stop advicing ppl. Thanks |

hi dear,
Just to all those saying MSc is useless, in the BITS MSc program, you get an engineering degree MSc. Atlases research before you act like experts. And the placements are on the basis of you BE degree only. But BITSians hardly get placed through Campus interviews. Most of them receive job offers after their Practise School. And before you say anything about the placements, Amazon recently recruited an MSc students at a package of over 14lpa. thanks |

BITS pilani is 100 times better than Vit. If you can score 9.2+ Cgpa you can get into BE . But of course you have to work hard.Placements and Training are no tension .Just enjoy.Bits Pilani is certainly the best choice. |

Hi dear,
Thee should not be any doubt of these two colleges because both the colleges are good. You can do the dual courses from any of these institute but the major thing is that you should do the MBA as your another course . It will help you in the future for better scope in the corporate sector. So i would suggest you to go for the MBA rather then MSc. And if you talk about the institute then both of them are good, think and choose any one. Thanks |

Well. I'm from BITS Pilani.
2007 Batch. Got into MSc Maths. You "definitely" get an engineering degree along. I opted for Computer Science. For all those worrying about placements, note that Infosys / Cognizant / TCS etc are put under "bus companies" in the campus, meaning, mass recruiters and no one opts for that job unless you screwed ypu collehe life big time (year backs plus abysmally low cgpa ... say 4/10). I got placed in Epic Systems. 42.5 lpa (85000 US Dollars). 4 of us did. I have friends who are from Goa campus and got placed in Amazon (16.5 lpa) and other companies like Nvidia, Morgan Stanley, Arista etc (all of which offer 10 lpa ) The avergae pay for Computer Science / Information Systems here for the first semester of this year is 6.8 lpa. Yeah, thats the "avergae". And you dont have "reservations" and "quotas" here. Pure talent. If you have it, you are in. Else, you aren't. Frankly speaking, you can compare BITS only to IITs (it ranks higher than all new IITs and 2-3 old IITs consistently). Comparing it with VIT was the biggest damn joke I've come across in a while. Sorry, VIT-ians if you are viewing. But facts are facts. No offence meant. Peace ! |

Hi friend
No, VIT is not better than BITS Dubai, infact VIT is not even better than BIT Pilani or BITS Goa! There are several reasons for BITS Dubai being better than VIT: 1.Admission process: Admission in BITS Dubai is done on the basis of one's marks in the +2 board exam marks. This enables transparency and students are offered seats on the basis of pure merit. On the other hand VIT has more than 40% seats reserved for management quota in which a candidate can take admission in VIT irrespective of his marks and skills. This makes the student quality degraded as compared to BITS as in BITS all the students are of equal intelligence and like minded so they are always in good company. Also the placements at BITS are thus better because the student quality is better. 2.Infrastructure, facilities, faculty: The BITS Dubai campus needless to say is better than the VIT Vellore campus. Also the facilities(labs, classrooms, food, hostels, etc.) are all world class in Dubai and there is overall personality development apart from academic excellence in BITS Dubai, a feature that is lacking in VIT. Also the faculty in BITS Dubai is more experienced and also have various methods of teaching as compared to the Indian style of teaching which is rather straight and boring. 3.Placements: BITS Dubai again is undoubtably the winner here as there are international companies which hire students and offer pay packages which VIT students can only dream of. Also you will get to work abroad, earn handsomely in foreign currency and enjoy a much better standard of living working and staying in Dubai as compared to working and staying in India. So as a short and long term perspective BITS Dubai is clearly a better option to go for. Good luck ![]() |

Hahahahahahah. Seriously, dude? Vit vs bits?! U think vit is even comparable to bits? I'll tell you the true picture of vit. A friend of mine had 18k rank in viteee nd was alloted ece at chennai campus. Another friend of mine, he belonged to a rich family had a rank of around 30k nd is currently doing cse from vit vellore campus. So to get into vit all u need is ur dad's money(and a lot of it for that matter) 70% of there admissions are through capitation fee in one way or another. While in bits, u need to score a bare minimum of around 300 to get a good branch. There is no reservation, no backdoor entries. Everyone at bits is there on the basis of merit. U must have heard the famous case of bits refusing to admit a nondeserving candidate despite of pressure by the all powerfull indra gandhi ji.
Vit can take as many years as it wants but it'll never be even close to what bits pilani is. Vit is a bloody shop where knowledge or rather 'degrees' are sold. Bits is a temple of knowledge. So dont fall prey to the false marketting done by vit. It sucks, to the core. And as a matter of fact, just go ask the vit ppl about there faculty. There isnt even a single phd. Just imagine ppl with mca and ms degrees teaching engineering students. Also, i had an option of getting cse at vellore campus and mechanical in pilani. I chose pilani, and i'm glad i did. Bitsian for life. :) |
