It is necessary to appoint a company secretary for every such company.

COMPANY SECRETARY is a professional course conducted and managed by ICSI(Institute of Company Secretary of India) and can be taken any time of a year as it is a correspondence course.

The CS course is divided into three parts:-

FOUNDATION PROGRAM-The candidate having completed 12th in any stream from a recognised Board is eligible for this program. Course Fee Rs.3600.00, Exam Fee Rs.875.00

EXECUTIVE PROGRAM-The candidate having completed either Foundation program or Graduation in any stream from a recognised University, is eligible directly for this program. Course Fee Rs.6500.00 for Foundation program passed, Rs.7000.00 for Commerce Graduate and Rs.7500.00 for other Graduates, Exam Fee Rs.900.00

PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM-The candidate having completed Executive program is eligible for this program. Course Fee Rs.7500.00, Exam Fee Rs.750.00.

The exam for CS is held two times a year one in June and other in December.

Apart from this the candidate has to under go a 15 months practical training before finally certified as Company Secretary by ICSI.

To pursue company secretary course

you must have at least qualified +2 level of examination from a recognized board. Once you qualify the exam, you are eligible to enroll yourself for the Foundation Program.

The Foundation Program is followed by Executive Program, Professional Program and a 15 months practical training.

Foundation Program- Rs. 3600
Executive Program- Rs. 7000 for commerce graduates and Rs.7750 for Non commerce graduates

Students who have passed their intermediate or will appear in the examination of intermediate are eligible to apply for it. It is offered By The Institute of company secretaries in India , ICSI
The cost of the application for is Rs.200/- if you wish to get it by post then Rs.250 will be charged.
It consists of 3 parts - CS foundation program , CS executive Program and CS professional program

Company Secretary is a professional whose role in a corporate set up is that of an advisor for legal matters.

You needs to clear 3 stages to qualify as Company Secretary and these are:

1. Foundation Course - The minimum eligibility to gain entry in the Foundation Course is a pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent in any stream. The course is of 8 months duration.
2. Intermediate Course - A pass in the Foundation Course Examination of the ICSI/Graduation degree or a Master's degree/Pass in ICWAI, ICAI can allow you entry in the intermediate course. The course is of 9 months.

3. Final Course - Once you pass the Intermediate Course you automatically become eligible for admission to the Final Course.

Training - On passing the Final examination of ICSI you will need to undergo a practical training. On successful completion of the training you can register yourself as a company secretary with ICSI..

The minimum educational qualification required to pursue CS course is +2 from a recognised institute.There is no entrance test conducted for admission in CS programme.

The CS course is divided into three stages
1.Foundation Programme
2.Executive Programme
3.Professional Programme

After successful completion of the Foundation programme, Professional programme and practical training prescribed by the institute, the candidate becomes the member of the ICSI. and becomes eligible to practice as a company Secretary.

The last date of registration for the Foundation Programme is 28th of February to appear in the examination conducted same year in the month of December and 31st of August for the examination conducted next year in the month of June.
