Yes it shows an affect if you want to attend some companies.
You must have atleast 60% in 10th and 12th without any backlogs. But that is the matter with only some companies, many don't even consider 10th, 12th percentages. |

Re: Btech marks are good but marks in 10th and 12th are low, what are the possible problems I could face?
Hey its not a big problem since you have scored well in your B.tech.having a bad score in your 10Th and 12TH may not effect you since many of the companies like Wipro ask for a minimum percentage of 55 in your 10th and 12th.Having a bad score in 10th may effect you in getting into top MNC's but you can go through various government exams conducted by the UPSC,SBI,BEL,BHEL,HAL and other such companies which even depends upon the branch in Engineering your from.
You can even go for higher studies like MBA or M.Tech or any other course according to your interest. all the best |

hello sir,
i scored 59.4% in class 12th in the year 2006,due to low marks i gave improvement examinations in the year 2007 and my percentage then became 68%.as eligibility criteria for IT companies is 60% in class 12th,therefore i would like to ask you whether i am eligible or not,as i got pass certificate from cbse board in the year 2006 but i scored more than 60% in the year 2007 by giving improvement exams.plzz suggest me whether companies accept improvement exams mrks or not, i am getting very confused. |

Quote:
Its nice to see that you have started working on your placement even in your 2nd yr.... As you know its pretty tough to take up when companies say 60% eligibility for 10th and 12th but you dont have to worry cause if you have work experience then no company will see the 10th and 12th marks for sure... my advice to you will be as you are in 2nd IT just start working on some real time projects like doing some innovative things with the help of your seniors or staffs because if you do it am sure you can just show that project which talks more than your marks to the companies which are coming in for placements then for sure they will accept to take you even in campus placements....hope the info. helps.......ALL THE BEST... |

Re: Btech marks are good but marks in 10th and 12th are low, what are the possible problems I could face?
dear friend,
As your 10th and 12th marks are low then you will not be able to apply for any big companies.. You will not be able to appear in campus drive of giant IT companies. Also you will not be eligible to apply for PSU sectors.. But you don't worry.. You can apply for jobs in sectors like- 1.Defense 2.UPSC conducted civil service exams 3.Bank PO exams. So, go for any of these.. All the best. |

hi, i got 73% in engineering (from a reputed govt. engg college) & currently having 5 yrs working experience with MBA through distance learning (from NMIMS, Mumbai) but the problem is my 10th marks: 57% & 12th marks:58%. because of below 60% I am not eligible for OEM%u2019s (i.e tatamoters, maruti); so my question is %u201Cif now I will do 10th through distance learning & got above 60% than will it be acceptable/considerable/eligible or not??%u201D

Re: Btech marks are good but marks in 10th and 12th are low, what are the possible problems I could face?
Dear pal,
Most of the companies recruits engineers or any degree holders only based on the marks secured by them in the degree course . Marks in the previous exams are not considered by them for the selection process. But in few circumstances the companies may consider the marks in the tenth and higher secondary course in that case you may not be able to satisfy the eligible. If case of fixing up the eligibility in the Higher secondary then it would be 60% so you might face difficulty. But do not think of the negative side think that you have wide opportunity and you will be placed. Do not apply only to a single institution apply to a number of institution so that you can have better chances for job immediately after the completion of your bachelor degree course. You need to develop soft skill and communication abilities and other software skill required for your discipline . ALL THE BEST |
