you can't take admisson in IIT after Diploma.

through lateral entry test, diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering can't join in IITs.

as to join iits, students should have to appear in the the IIT-JEE EXAM.

If u want to take
admission in iit then u first have to go
for JEE main exam conducted by
CBSE then JEE advance or IITs
but diploma holders are not allowed to
give JEE main exam.


Eligibility for JEE exam:
●Student must passed the 12+2 exam.

●Candidate must have passed with PCM.

●Candidate must be born after 1990

● The number of attempts a candidate can
appear for JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03.

I am sorry to say but you cannot get direct admission in any IIT in 2nd year after doing diploma irrespective of the field.
There are plenty of colleges(in fact all of them) that give you direct admission in 2nd year after diploma.
They have a fixed number of seats reserved for the students for diploma.
Then according to your performance in diploma you get a rank and hence a seat.

Dear adviser, I am doing polytechnic (in 3rd year from civil branch) on 10 class bases. And I want to do IIT (b tech) after complete my polytechnic.
Can I do IIT on polytechnic level? Although polytechnic doing on 10 class bases.
Plz tell me what requirements need?
