i Dont think there is any percentage criteria for the exam ,the candidate should only be a graduate ................

For IPS exams you have to appear for UPSC CSE exams which are conducted each years. The forms are generally available in november or thereafter and exams are held in may which is pre afte which mains are held and than interview.
The forms are available in the designated head post office of area once the examination schedule is declared

You have to be a graduate in order to appear for the exam. You can even appear for the preliminary exam in the final year.

The application process is not at all complicated. You can buy the form from the nearby post office and then send it to the address

There is no specific exam as IPS examination.

IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year.

To be eligible for IPS Civil Service Exam, one must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The candidate should be Physical Fit.

There is certain prescribed Physical requirement for IPS aspirants:-

HEIGHT:-

-General Male-165cm, Female-150cm
-SC/ST male-160cm, Female-145cm

CHEST:-

-Male - 85cm, Female-79cm expendable to 5cm in both the cases.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST -PRELIMINARY EXAM
-CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM
-PERSONAL INTERVIEW

The procedure for becoming an IPS officer is :

* You hold graduation degree from recognized university.

* Age limit:

21-30 yrs and some relaxation for obc and sc/st.
