Sir,I am Mohammed Shoaib Shaikh and I want to become a Customs Officer but I have passed 12th with 48% only and will be doing b.com this year.....So if I score above 55% and apply for Customs Officer I will be selected or not......because my % is less in 12th....reply asap.....thank you.

Hi,
To get into Airport Customs officer you need to qualify Civil Services Exam conducted by upsc. In Civil Services Exam you will face One Preliminary Exam And if you get success in cracking preliminary Exam then you will face Mains. Basically Civil Services Exam is having General Studies and Optional Subjects. Now comes to Eligibility criteria :- 19 years of age must be there if a guy is applying for Civil Services Exam and Side by side a bachelor's degree with 55% marks. Thanks.................... |

minimum HS diploma, clean arrest history, good driving record, pass psyche test, polygraph test and it helps if you have a college degree. They also check your credit history. These are some Qualification and procedure to become Custom Officer at Airport----------------------- 1.You must have completed graduation from any recognized university 2.You must be more than 18 years of age 3.The candidates must have 55% of marks in their graduation 4.You must possess Vehicle license 5.You must be a citizen of India. If you want to use your detection skills and want to protect the UK, this job could be ideal for you. Customs officers prevent banned items from entering or leaving the country, and collect a range of taxes and duties (payments).
You will normally start as an administrative assistant or assistant officer and earn promotion to customs officer or detection officer. To become a customs officer, you will need to have good judgement. You will need to be firm but fair. You will also need to be honest in applying rules. THE WORK:- As customs officer (also known as a detection officer), you would work in airports and seaports collecting customs duties and preventing smuggling and illegal trade. You might: search luggage, vehicles and travellers check customs documents question people who have been found with illegal items or goods over the allowance arrest and charge people prepare reports and witness statements take on specialist roles such as dog handling or undercover and surveillance work. When necessary, you would go to court as a witness and would work closely with other agencies, like the police and the Home Office. HOURS:- As a full-time customs officer you would work 36 hours a week over five days. In a border protection role you would work shifts to cover 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Job sharing or part-time work may be available. You would be based at airports and seaports. You would also travel to court when necessesary. INCOME:- Assistant officer salaries start at £15,720 a year. Customs officers earn between £20,175 and £25,710 a year. Salaries after promotion to higher officer grades are between £25,248 and £38,861 a year. You would also receive extra allowances for working unsocial hours (such as evenings, weekends and pubic holidays). People working in London will receive a higher rate of pay. Entry requirements:- You would normally join as an administrative assistant or assistant officer and earn promotion to customs officer or detection officer. Recruitment directly to officer grade sometimes takes place. To join at officer grade you will probably need five GCSEs (A-C) including English and maths, plus two A levels or equivalent qualifications. You will normally need two GCSEs (A-C) to join HMRC as an administrative assistant, and five GCSEs (A-C) including maths and English for assistant officer jobs. However, if you do not have these qualifications, you could take a test to prove your skills and abilities in areas like teamwork and communication. Please check entry requirements for each vacancy. You must also meet the Civil Service nationality requirement. All jobs are open to British nationals and many are also open to Commonwealth citizens or European Union nationals. For you to become an Airport Customs officer you must give the Civil Services exam that is conducted by UPSC.
The following conditions should also be fulfilled: 1.Obtain a bachelors degree 2.Get atleast 55% in your bachelors degree 3.Be atleast 19 years old 4.Have not done drugs 5.Have not committed a crime. |

Hello. sir/ma'am , i just done my graduation this year. I am interested in customs field and i don't want to go through upsc or ssc exams, as i'm not interested in these exams, as i neither want to waste your time nor mine in these exams traps. Is there is another process for the selection?
