Re: Got 59.66% in 12th : Am I eligible for IIT JEE?
you have scored minimum 60% marks in your 12th exams, only then you are eligible for IIT JEE exams. Because for general candidates 60% marks is minimum eligiblity.
If you are belong to SC/ST candidates, then you are eligible, otherwise you are not eligible to appear in IIT JEE exams. Minimum Percentage of Marks in 12th exams, Candidates belonging to GE, OBC must secure at least 60% marks in PCM.. |

Re: Got 59.66% in 12th : Am I eligible for IIT JEE?
No problem IIT counts only the average marks in physycs , chemistry and maths.
So you need to nave minimum of 60% in those subjects taken together. If you are SC/ST then your chances are even brighter as u will require very less % that will be more than 50%. All the best |

Re: Got 59.66% in 12th : Am I eligible for IIT JEE?
Hi
IIT JEE is referred as the Indian Institute of Technology and it is one of the toughest undergraduate entrance exams which are held in our country. JEE is organized and conducted by the IIT's to select eligible candidates for the various B.E/B.Tech Programs in all the 13 IIT's situated in India. The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to be able to apply in the IIT JEE are :
Now as you say that you have got 59.66%, I really feel bad and pity that you are not eligible to apply for IIT anymore. >> * The only way you can apply is repeat your 12th, and them score more than 60%. After that you will have only that one attempt left. So crack it if you can. Otherwise, I am really sorry to say that you are not even eligible for B.Tech as 60% is the minimum standard for most of the colleges in India. However you may try for some other course which interests you. All the best Regards #RJ# |

If you have scored minimum 60% marks in your 12th exams, only then you are eligible for IIT JEE exams. Because for general candidates 60% marks is minimum eligiblity.
If you are belong to SC/ST candidates, then you are eligible, otherwise you are not eligible to appear in IIT JEE exams. Minimum Percentage of Marks in 12th exams, Candidates belonging to GE, OBC must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their QE. Whereas, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the Final exams. If you have clear your 12th examination from a recognised Board, then you are eligible to appear in IIT JEE exams. But, make sure that, you can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only. And, if you have give your Final examination, only then you are eligible for IIT JEE exams. So, please visit the official websites and conform it from there. |

Re: Got 59.66% in 12th : Am I eligible for IIT JEE?
As you have told that you had secured 59.66% marks only.
So, I don't think you are eligible. As per eligibility criteria of IIT-JEE 2012. Minimum percentage of marks in Qualifying Examination: Candidates belonging to GE and OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in QE. SC, ST and PD candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in QE. But don't worry, now ISEET 2013 may be implemented from the next year and in that exam, at least 50% marks are required to appear in that examination. Now, AIEEE and IIT-JEE will be replaced by ISEET. Good Luck!!! |

Re: Got 59.66% in 12th : Am I eligible for IIT JEE?
Dear Friend ,
* IIT Stands for "Indian Institute of Technology". * The IIT exam is taken every year for the admission of 12th pass outs in B.Tech/B.E./B.Arch . * It is one of the most reputable institutes of the world and conducts one of the toughest exams in India. * In order to be eligible for IIT JEE , you must fulfill the following : a) you must have passed your 12th with a minimum of 60% marks . b) You must have chosen Physics , chemistry and mathematics as your key subjects in 12th. c) Your age should lie in between 16-24 years. d) You are only allowed to appear in IIT-JEE twice in consecutive years. AS per the above mentioned you are not eligible for IIT-JEE because you do not have secured the minimum % of marks i.e., 60% marks. So , hard luck my friend as you missed it in just fractions of a percent. But you can go for other engineering entrance exams with these marks. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

Re: Got 59.66% in 12th : Am I eligible for IIT JEE?
Hi ,
You are eligible to give the JEE MAINS And JEE ADVANCE paper as the new revised criteria states that the candidate needs to get at least 50% independently in all the subjects . The old eligibility criteria required a GENERAL category candidate to score at least 60% in PCM and pass independently in all of them . The new criteria also takes 12th board marks in consideration when your overall rank is getting calculated . So you need to work hard in qualifying exam and get good marks to get admission in IIT. Good Luck For future !! |
