It is very nice to see that you want to be an IAS officer at such an early age. To apply for the post of IAS officer you have to apply for the Civil Servic examination Conducted by UPSC.The selection procedure is held in three stages- 1)Preliminary 2)Main Examination 3)Personal Interview The minimum educational qualification required to appear for the examination is graduation in any stream from a recognized university. The age of the candidate must be between 21 to 30 years. As you are in class 12th you first complete your graduation with the subjects you like and then apply for the examination. Best Wishes.... |

Re: How To become an I.A.S. officer after 12th?
To become a successful IAS,IPS,IES,IFS officers first u have to complete your graduation in any group! What group u prefer in graduation is not a mandatory! After completion of ur graduation u have to apply for Union Public Service commission (UPSC) or Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) examinations which will be held in may and october! then u should prepare for the three kinds of examinations notably PRELIMINARY EXAM,MAIN EXAM,INTERVIEW. U have to prepare for all the three at a time as there will be no time in preparing for each stage! U have to attempt PRELIMINARIES in may and MAINS in October or November! After qualifying PRELIMINARY u will be selected for MAINS and after qualifying MAINS u will be carried out to DIRECT ORAL INTERVIEW. Then u will be undergone police training in NATIONAL POLICE ACADEMY if u chose IPS and further different training will be given to IAS,IFS etc..,! Indian Youngsters should not only concentrate on IAS or IPS but there are several other efficent services like INDIAN ARMY, NATIONAL SECURITY GUARDS,BORDER SECURITY FORCE,PARAMILITARY FORCES etc.., All the best young india! I myself was a student of 12th :)

Re: How To become an I.A.S. officer after 12th?
You should be a graduate to apply for Civils Exam which is IAS/IPS exam.
I think you may even apply for the Civils Exam when you are in the final year of your graduation. You can be from any subject in your graduation. I suggest you to take Social Studies(Civics, History, Economics) in your graduation for better grip on the related subjects for the Civils Exam. |
