All branches of engineering are equally good. It would be unfair to say a particular branch is best. Every branch offer good job prospects with handsome salary & attractive perks.

So,you can select any branch of engineering depending up on your knowledge, skill, ability & of course your interest.

There are a no. of fields in which you can pursue a master's degree in engineering. But it would be better for you if you pursue MTech in a related field like:

IT
software engineering
network engineering

if you look as a job point of view..probably it will be not a good idea to change your branch because it will create a very bad bad impression on HR's mind...while your interview...moreover you will have a lot of problems in qualifying the GATE exams as you will have to face different branch questions and that you have read in your b.tech...

the branch in m.tech best form computer science is electronics , electrical etc becauce in this field more number of jobs are available . so i think these brach is best for you. thanking you..

If you are not intersted in CS, then according to me in modern india mtech in biotechnology is the best , new boom is coming in mtech food technology also. but mainly depends waht stream you have passed from, if from engineering line, then opt for electronics and IT........

other than computer science there are many branches for M.Tech. like M.Tech in Mechanical,
civil
electronical
electronics & communication

or M.Tech in Nuclear Science & Technology or
M.Tech. in Nanotechnology or
M.Tech. in Chemical Synthesis

there are many options, you can choose any one in which you are interested..all the best..

Embedded system
Robotics
VLSI
Network Security
Communication
Wireless communication
Network Management
and lots of branches other then computer science are available for you in mtech.

Yes you can do mtech in embedded system after Btech in computer science because embeded system is a combination of hardware and software.

Different operating systems like unix, linux, windows.

Programming part is also available in embedded system which makes computer science student compitible with embedded system.

I have completed BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2004 with 81% from university of Madras, now I am working as Software Engineer (Wireless Testing) in a reputed company, I would like to study M.Tech, please suggest me the best branch in M.Tech that suits to my career.
I am thinking at worst case if IT field goes down, I may join as lecturer in college and survive, so it would be better if I select the branch based on this plan, please give suggestions.

ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION is best field ever green subject its a vast field, and surely you will get good placements with packages, subjects in EC like communication, vlsi ,power electronics are very famous.

Undoubtedly the best branch after cs is ece.

after doing b.tech in computer science you want tech subject in m.tech other than computer science subject. so you may take subject from electronics and communication. you can choose VLSI or embedded system engineering as your m.tech paper. the scope and job opportunity of these subject is very good. also these are very interesting subject. besides this you may choose network engineering, analog communication, digital communication, microprocessor, control system etc as you m.tech subject. choose the best suitable one for you. best wishes from me.

Seeing the present day scenario, the best branch after Computer Science is Electrical Engineering. It has got a very good scope of jobs in private as well as government sector. If you want to go in government jobs then the branches like Mechanical and Civil will be better.
