what is best branch which i should take in mtech other than computer science as i have done btech in computer science and i do not want to take same branch in mtech.will it be a good change keeping in mind job prospect.please reply soon

computer science is a good branch. It can provide you jobs in multinational companies. But if you want to change your branch then you can change it to mechanical. It is the best branch. There are chances of government jobs also.

Best branch in mtech is electronics and communication. If you are not intersted in CS, then according to me in modern india mtech in biotechnology is the best , new boom is coming in mtech food technology also. but mainly depends waht stream you have passed from, if from engineering line, then opt for electronics and IT........

what abt specializations in embbeded systems etc in mtech , i m a comp science engineer.

you can do mtech any branch you want..but you have to give the entrance in that branch..like gate. so you have to choose such a branch that has at least 40% entrance syllabus same for your ease. you can choose the branch like ece and instrumentation.... i think no problem for job..because i have many example like that..

i think electronics and communication is a good branch in M.tech other than computer science b'coz the market of EC is high and its good for future prospectus . side by side u can do job also from practical aspects .if we teach the students of same branch that will be good thing so that ur knowledge will be always up to date.

i think u should go for elctronics, becoz now u can gain hardware knowledge in electronic and this along with ur software knowledge will help to develop any programmable electronic devices and u can flourish then...........

u can choose mechanical or mechatronics or designing CAD... or ece .....don think abt wat others say do wat your heart says..............tc

all branches are good.its our mentality that if i take that branch then there are better oppurtunities.but the fact is that all depends on students hard work and will power.upto my knowledge, electronics and communication branch would be better

The best branch is mtech electronics as it provided a lot of job oppurtunities in different sectors.All companies prefer electronics branch first as it is a a bit difficult one to study.

hey, as u have done btech in cs you do your mtech in same branch bcoz you will get specialised in that field.other option is you can do M.S.

Its better you do one of the following branches that suits you because you have done CSE in B.Tech
-Industrial management
-Software engineering
-Network engineering.

M.tech Electrical is the best one to do, but I think CS students are not eligible for that.

There is a provision of changing your core branch for admission in MTech but with valid GATE score in that particular field. I am naming the branch for MTech other than computer science:

You are eligible for any branch like aerodynamics engineering , electrical engineering , industrial engineering, chemical engineering, bioscience engineering with a valid GATE score in relevant branch.

According to me ECE (Electronics & Communication Engineering) stream is best .

Besides this there are so many department like microbiology, ceramic technology , civil , mechanical , production etc.. in m.tech which are seriously interested than CSE (Computer Science & Engineering) .

so choose yourself....

I wanna say my opinion first that you are a student of B.Tech Computer Sc. means you are familiar with the computer related S/W as well as H/W field.

So,according to me you should not change your domain,as you will be very good student to cope up with the computer Sc.

If you complete your M.Tech in Computer Sc. ,then you can enhance your knowledge as well as your experience in your computer related all field,then you can go further higher study Research field Ph.D.

However, as you are kin interested not to do the M.Tech in Computer Sc. then there is a very good option to you i.e.,you may go to the related subject Electronics for M.Tech.

I am choosing ECE for you as recession is now going on so, among the CSE,IT and ECE,the ECE(Electronics & Communication Engg.) is the best option to you.

Its future is really very bright,through this stream you can go various sectors in higher study such as :

In my view electronics and communication is the best one. If u choose E.C.E then u have the lots of job oppertuanity in future.

after doing b.tech in computer science you want tech subject in m.tech other than computer science subject. so you may take subject from electronics and communication. you can choose VLSI or embedded system engineering as your m.tech paper. the scope and job opportunity of these subject is very good. also these are very interesting subject. besides this you may choose network engineering, analog communication, digital communication, microprocessor, control system etc as you m.tech subject. choose the best suitable one for you. best wishes from me.

I cannot understand why you take the decision to do M.Tech apart from Computer Science as it's future prospect is really great. Are you didn't get interest in computer subjects if not then your decision is right as M.Tech is really advanced than B.Tech.

You can change your stream from Computer Science to other stream but you have to score really well in GATE.

You can take one of the following streams :-

Electronics engineering
Electrical engineering
Mechatronics,
Aerodynamics
Food Technology
Wireless Communication etc.

i think it will be better if you complete your B.tech from CSE branch because you are familiar of software & also hardware.Computer Sc. & Engineering which is really really great subject in engineering ever had.
