Age limit for appearing for IES exam? Candidate should have completed 21 years or attain 21 years?
what is the age limit for appearing for ies exams. whether the candidate should have 21 completed or is it just enough to attain 21. i was born on 1991.

AGE LIMIT:-
1)candidate must have completed 21 years of age by 1st august of that year in which he/she is going to appear. MAXIMUM AGE LIMIT FOR DIFFERENT CATEGORIES:- GENERAL=30,OBC=33,SC/ST=35. As per your year of birth you will not attain 21 year in 2011.So,you cannot give this year IES. For further details you can visit :- www.upsc.gov.in/ |

Hello friend,
To be eligible for the IES exam, you must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be over 30 years. (relaxation of upto 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC's). For further information, please refer to the official website of UPSC. |

IES Exam Eligibility: Age Eligibility: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August, 2011. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules. So check according to your date of birth you are eligible or not. |

Eligibility criteria for IES exam -
1. Graduation from any recognized university . 2. Age limit = 21 to 30 years . 3. Candidate should be a citizen of India . 4. Number of permissible attempts = 4 times foe general (7 times for sc/st) So if the exam date is after your 21th birthday then you are eligible .Otherwise you are not eligible ,because candidate with age less than 21 years are not allowed .
