i have done BA and MCA from sikkim manipal University .am i eligible for appearing in GATE .plz reply soon.

Eligibility for GATE Exam:

• **either Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture
• **either Master degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications
• **either Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology

only these candidates can apply ..

Yes you can apply as you fulfill the 2nd condition of eligiblity...

• for Gate as there is no age limit
• and no number of attempts defined in GATE exam..
• and also there is no minimum percentage criteria ,

the only thing needed is talent and hard work to crack the GATE..


gate marks are applicable for all colleges and it is valid for 2 years ..

you have to completed you masters degree so you are eligible for GATE.

1.ANY BEACHELOR DEGREE HOLDER IN ENGINEERING,COMPUTER SCIENCE,TECHNOLOGY
2.ANY MASTER DEGREE HOLDER IN THE BRANCH OF SCIENCE EXCEPT ECONOMICS

yes your masters degree in computer applications makes you eligible to give gate exam.
the rank which you will get after the exam is valid for two years.
you can take admission in any college in which your rank lies in between the cut off of the college.
so work hard to get admission in a good college

look the eligibility criteria to appear for gate is a masters degree in computers , science , maths or b.tech or b.e.
since you have done mca so you are positively eligible for the exam

The candidates with following academic background are eligible to appear in GATE 2011 Examination:

Bachelor's degree holders Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

you are elligble for gate and the no. age limit is there no limit ofno. of attemps and your percentage shold b greater than 60% in graduation .....ALL THE VERY BEST..!!!

You are eligible for the General Aptitude Test for Engineering since you have completed post graduation in Computers. However you should only consider doing M.Tech if not getting enough good opportunities with the MCA degree.

You can get good jobs in Master of Computer Applications degree. The IT sector of India can offer good opportunities provided you scored well throughout the academic career. Some companies in which you can apply for jobs are:

Yahoo

Wipro

Tech Mahindra

Generally companies require candidate to have scored 60 percent marks in 10th, 12th, graduation and post graduation to be considered for the job. Anything less than 60 percent will mean that you may not get job in big MNCs but have to try for job in the SME.

Only if you are unable to find good job, it is recommeded to go for the M.Tech. To get admission it is required to appear for the General Aptitude Test for Engineering.


GATE Eligibility

1. A valid B.Tech degree from recognized university.

2. Post graduation degree in Maths/Computers etc.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. No age limit to appear for GATE entrance exam.

5. The GATE score is ony valid for 2 years after which you will have to reappear.

Yes MCA passed or final year students can apply for GATE. It is clear mentioned in the notification that Master in Computer Application can apply for GATE.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is conducted by IITs and IISc Bangalore for admission IITs and other colleges based on GATE score.

Those who qualify GATE will get stipend during their higher studies and they will also be eligible for various Junior Research Fellowships.

Also many PSUs recruit Engineers based on the GATE score. Hence if you qualify GATE then it will be very good for your future studies and career.

So you can start your GATE preparation because you are definitely eligible for it. Also note that this exam is conducted by IITs so you have to be very well prepared for the exam then only you will be able to crack it.

One thing is also good that there is no age limit for this exam means if you have qualification then you can prepare for it with a free mind.
