You are a Automobile Engineering student so you are applicable for IES exam.The minimum Qualification for IES exam is Bachelor of Engineering or technology.

IES is stand for Indian Engineering Service , This exam is conducted by UPSC once time in year.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Masters degree in Physics and Radio Physics are applicable for IES exam.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

So you are from different stream so don't worry you are applicable for IES exam.But you can choose the subject schedule from above mentioned.

Because there is no paper for Aeronautical Department.

From my point of view Mechanical Subject is suitable for You because automobile and Mechanical are related Department.

there are only four branche's candidates can appear in IES
1. mech. engg.
2. elec. and comm. engg.
3. electrical engg.
4. civil engg.

After completing Automobile engineering you are not ekigible for I.E.S exam.

I.E.S. exam is Indian Engineering Services.

I.E.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

The candidate who pass engineering in following branch are eligible for I.E.S exam:-
1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The age limit is 21-30 year.
