IFS stands for Indian Forest Service.This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year once.

Those candidate have graduation degree from Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent are applicable for IFS exam.

Yes , Electrical Engineering student are applicable for IFS Exam.But you are now 3rd year so you are now not applicable for IFS Exam .After completion of your degree you are applicable for IFS Exam.

Your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

Physical Criteria for IFS Exam:-

For men:-

1. Min. height- 165cm and 5cm relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
2. Weight should be suitable with height.
3. Chest- 84cm (min) and 5cm relaxation for obc/sc/st.

For women:-

1. Height - min. 150cm and 5cm relaxation for obc/sc/st.
2. Weight should be suitable with height.
3. Chest- min.79cm and 5cm relaxation for sc/st/obc.

IES is a one of the civil service examination

Yes you are eligible to sit for the IFS Exam in the final year. Full form of Indian Forest Service. This examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

IFS Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

¶¶ If you have a degree in any one of the following subject then you are eligible:- mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, geology, statistics, veterinary science and animal husbandry.

¶¶ If you have a degree in engineering, agriculture or forestry then count yourself in.

¶¶ On doing a degree medicine or surgery too you can sit for the IFS Examination.

¶¶ If you are in the final year then also you can give this exam. Before the Main Exam however you should have passed in the qualifying exam.

¶¶ Your age should not be lower than 21 years when applying for this exam and the upper age limit is 30 years.

¶¶ There is 5 years upper age limit relaxation for the SC/ST candidates, three years for the OBC candidates and 10 years for the PWD candidates.

¶¶ General category candidates can give this exam for four times, OBC candidates for seven times and no restriction is there on the SC/ST candidates.

Selection Procedure:-

Following stages or hurdles needs to be crossed to be an IFS Officer:-

1. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination
2. Main Examination (Written and Interview)

CSAT Exam Pattern:-

The prelim exam mainly consists of objective questions and for each paper 200 marks have been allotted.

UPSC CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test ) has two papers:-

Paper I - (200 marks) Duration : Two hours

• Current events of national and international importance.
• History of India and Indian National Movement.
• Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
• Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
• Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics,Social Sector initiatives, etc.
• General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.
• General Science.

Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision-making and problem-solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
• English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).

Please Note:- Penalty for wrong answers: 1/3rd

Yes,you are eligible to apply for IFS(Indian Forest Services) exam after completing your graduation in electrical engineering.

The IFS exam is conducted by UPSC to recruit personnel in Forest Department. The eligibility criteria required to appear in IFS exam are as under:-

-The candidate must be a citizen of India.

-The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.There is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved categories;

*OBC- 3 years

*SC/ST-5 years.

-The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects:

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering.

-The maximum number of attempts restriction is effective from the examination held in 1984. In case other eligibility conditions apply:

● General candidates: four attempts.

● Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.

● Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.
