CSIR NET is conducted for Lecturership and Junior Research fellowships.

Those who have got 55% marks in Post Graduation can apply for CSIR NET .

For SC/ST 50% marks is the criteria for this examination.

Post Graduation should be in any of the following streams if you want to apply for CSIR NET:

-Chemical Sciences

-Earth and Planetary Sciences

-Life Sciences

-Mathematical Sciences

-Physical Sciences

So if you satisfy above criteria then you can apply for CSIR NET.

For Lecturership there is no age limit but for JRF you need to be below 28 years of age.

For National Eligibility Test, candidate must have completed post graduation course. It could be any recognized course from a recognized university. It means that once you have completed M.E. course you will be eligible but depending on how much marks you have scored in the post graduation.

National Eligibility Test is for college lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. It is national level entrance exam conducted by the University Grants Commission. The state level exam conducted separately by each state is called State Eligibility Test.

Now please go through the eligibility criteria that I have mentioned below before applying for the National Eligibility Test. The test is conducted in June and December therefore choose when to appear properly. You may want to give yourself proper time to prepare.

NET by no meaning is a easy entrance exam. It is quite difficult however the advantage is that there is no limit to appearances.

Eligibility

1. It is national level exam for Indian citizens only.

2. Post graduates are eligible to appear for it.

3. But they should have completed PG with 55 percent or more marks.

4. SC/ST candidate can appear with 50 percent marks.

5. You can appear during the final year of M.E. as well.

6. However if you do, then please submit the degree within 2 years of passing NET.

7. Select NET subject depending on your PG degree.

8. There is no limit on appearances.

9. JRF aspirants can apply till 28 years.

10 Lectureship don't have any age criteria.
