Respected Sir, I am studying in class 12th and I want to know am I eligible to write SCRA exam while studying in class 12th? Do I have to write the exam after completing class 12th? Please answer as soon as possible.

SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice and the examination was earlier conducted by UPSC for recruitment in Indian Railway.

But, from 2016 the UPSC has stopped conducting the examination.

So, you are not eligible to appear for examination. For any future alerts regarding the examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

Sorry, as there is no SCRA examination right now as the UPSC called off the examination.

So, you cannot appear for examination after 12th.

Earlier till 2015 the examination was conducted by UPSC for recruitment of candidates as an officer in Indian Railway.

* SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice and SCRA examination was organised by UPSC till 2014 for the selection of candidates for their recruitment as railway engineer after giving them necessary education and training.

Now as I have mentioned that the examination is now not organized hence there is no question of your eligibility but for your knowledge I am mentioning the basic requirements required for the same examination which are as here under :-

a) You must be an Indian unmarried citizen.

b) Your age must lie within 17 years to 21 years.

c) You must have completed your Class 12th with PCM group with at least 45% aggregate from a recognized board of examination.

No, you are not eligible to write SCRA examination while studying Class 12th. Only candidates who have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry subject as one of the main subject from a recognised board are eligible to appear in SCRA examination. You should be in between 17 to 21 years of age and upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules.
