please tell me which is the best college of engineering after all iit colleges and what is the criteria to get admission

Dear friend
If one try to answer your question straight away then one could tell IIT Bombay or Kanpur or KGP or Delhi.
All the old IITs are good enough and some lead in some particular branch and some lead in some other particular branch.
If you are going for Comp Science then Kanpur would be the best, if thinking about overall package then Bombay and KGP would lead.
Its not a matter of debate. Every year ranking of IITs changes but they all are collectively at the top.
I would suggest you to first think about what branch you are choosing and then college.

THe best college is undoubtedly IIT Bombay....for this you must give the JEE exam conducted by IIT...you must get a rank of about 500 to get in to this IIT....although you can get through GATE also after doing your Btech. from any other college...

The best college for engineering apart from IIT is College of Engineering, Anna University. For admission in this college you will have to appear for TNEA (Tamilnadu Engineering Admissions).
Another one of the best institute for engineering is Jadavpur University. For admission, you will need to write entrance exam conducted by the insitute.

The best amongst IIT's is definitely ROORKEE, then comes Kharagpur, Madras, Kanpur and so on...

And you can join any of the IIT's only after attaining highest marks in the
IITJEE (Joint Entrance Exam) exam held every year in the month of MAY.

Applications for IITJEE can be done every year in the month of March/April.

One can apply for IITJEE in two ways..

IIT kharagpur is the best one for education but there are some disadvantages when compared to that of IIT kanpur. Join any one of these colleges you might get bright future if you keep up your grade point.

Admission process::
In general the you have to sit in GATE exam.GATE is one of the
toughest exam ever,for this exam you have to prepare properly.
in general,the form of the gate exam is released in the end weak of
September or 1st weak of October in each year.

The GATE exam is held on in the mid or last of February each year.
you can fill the form online or offline, for online form you have to
download the form from the official website:www.gate.iitb.ac.in,
otherwise,you can get the form from the nearer bank like Canara or

Criteria for admission is simple : Just crack JEE exam conducted by IITs.
In these IITs you can not judge their suprimacy because all are great and everybody have their own excellence in study , teaching and research. But please choose IIT according to the location and culture. Nearby IITs are always be good. It doesnt be a point to choose IIT but to GET into IITs will automatically be a good point.
