Hi!!
I am an engg 1st year student and will attempt CAT after completing my B.Tech.
Can you tell me what are the books required for clearing CAT. Please mention only the best books available at the nearest book stores

The three main sections of Common Admission Test(CAT) are Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation,Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability.There are quite a number of books available for the students to prepare all the three aspects of the competitive examination.In all the three the best book you can go through is of R.S Agarwal.But,you can even prefer the below mentioned books

For Quantitative Ability you can prefer books of O.P. Sinhal,The Pearson Guide To Quantitative Aptitude by Nishit K Sinha,

For Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation you can prefer Data Interpretation and Logical by Arun Sharma,

For Verbal Ability you can prefer Verbal Ability by Arun Sharma.

But to develop Verbal Ability its better that you start from the basic level i.e right from Wren And Martin's High School English Grammar.Go through the newspaper daily and you will definitely come across new words and sentences.To enhance grammar skills read books,magazines,newspapers and journals.
