UPSC{Union Public Service Commission} conducts Preliminary Exam which is Also known as CSAT i.e. Civil Service Aptitude Test.

Both Paper I and Paper II of CSAT comes under Preliminary test only.
after clearing these papers only you will become eligible to appear for Mains exam.
both paper I and Paper II will held on same day.
one in the morning and second in the afternoon time.
paper I will test your aptitude skills and paper II will test your General Knowledge.

so if you are an aspirant of civil services exam then you need to clear both these exams. then only you can appear for mains.
