I am priya,M.I’m doing my 3rd year B.tech(IT)I am interested to work in our southern railways.can i apply the railway exam for this year?if there is any possibilities please inform the details about the examinations.and which type of exams shall i prefer?..

Yes being an B.tech. degree course pursuer you are eligible for railway examination by the next year when you enter in your final year of graduation course but not at present.

Once you will enter in your final year of B.tech course you can appear in the Railway Recruitment Board examination for your recruitment as Junior engineer or Senior engineer as per your qualification.

--> For Junior engineer :-

* You must have at least diploma of engineering degree of three years from a recognized institute.

* Also your age must be within 18 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category applicants as per the norms.

--> For Senior engineer :-

* You must have completed your bachelor of engineering/technology course or pursuing the final year of same from a recognized university.

* Also your age must be within 20 years to 34 years. Age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates as per the norms.

The examination is held in three stages which are Preliminary test, Mains & Medical and Personality assessment test ( interview ).
