No, you are not eligible to appear for Advanced in 2017. JEE examination is conducted for admission of candidates in B.tech/B.E course.

The number of attempts to appear for examination is :-

Main - 3.

Advanced - 2.

So, you can appear for JEE Main in 2017 but not for Advanced stage even after qualifying in Main.

Sience, you have passed 12th board examination in 2015, so, in 2017, it is going to be your 3rd attempt in JEE.
JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE for admission in IIT(Indian Institute of Technology), NIT(National Institute of Technology) and other top engineering colleges.

Number of attempts is limited to 3 in JEE Mains and 2 in JEE Advance.

You can appear in JEE Mains but you will not be allowed to appear in JEE Advance as students are allowed to appear in JEE Advance only in the year in which the student has appeared for 12th board examination and in next year only.
So, you can appear for admission in NIT and other college but not for IIT and the colleges which demands JEE Advance rank.

You are not eligible for Joint Entrance examination Advanced stage in year 2017 because of following facts:

*There are two consecutive attempts for JEE Advanced exam for every candidates. Since you have done your 10+2 in 2015, you were eligible for JEE Advanced in 2015 and 2016 only.

*You can apply for JEE Main in 2017 as there are three consecutive attempts for JEE Main examination. You should work hard to clear JEE Main with top rank so that you can get admission in top National Institute of Technology like Trichy or Warangal.

JEE Main and JEE Advanced are National level engineering entrance examinations conducted by CBSE and IIT for offering admission in undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other CFTIs.

Candidates who have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with PCM stream from a Government recognised board are eligible to appear in JEE Main examination. Those who have appeared, qualified and secured top 1,50,000 rank (including all categories) in JEE Main examination are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination.

The maximum number of attempts allowed to appear in JEE Main examination is three times that too in three consecutive years after completion of your 12th standard and for JEE Advanced examination, it is two times that too in two consecutive years after completion of your 12th standard.

As per the information you have provided in your query, you have passed 12th standard in the year 2015, that means you are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2017 examination and you are not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2017 examination.

JEE refers to Joint Entrance Examination and is held by CBSE once every year for admission in undergraduate technical courses in various government engineering colleges like IIT, NIT, ISM, IIIT, etc. and other private engineering colleges.

Yes you are eligible for appearing in JEE Main 2017 for the third time as maximum attempt allowed for JEE Main is three consecutive attempts.

But you are not eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced having passed your board examination in 2015 as for JEE Advanced the maximum attempts allowed in two including the year in which you appear in your board examinations.

For further details about JEE Main you can log on to the link www.jeemain.nic.in where as JEE Advanced you can refer to www.jeeadv.ac.in.

According to eligibility criteria,
Candidate can appear for only 3 consecutive times for JEE Main Exam and 2 consecutive times for JEE Advanced exam.

So, if you have qualified for JEE Advanced exam recently, then only you can appear for this exam. Or if you haven't appeared for JEE Advanced exam, then also you can appear for JEE Advanced exam.

The cutoffs of JEE Main Exam 2016 were:
  • CML - 100
  • OBC - 70
  • SC - 52
  • ST - 48

No, maximum attempts to appear for Main examination is 3 while for Advanced stage after qualifying in Main stage is 2 only.

So, you cannot appear for Advanced stage in 2017. As, it will be your third year from 2015( 2015,2016,2017).

But, you are eligible to appear for Main examination. For more information about examination visit at www.jeemain.nic.in.

Information regarding number of attempts in Joint Entrance Examination.

There are two stages of this examination:

1. JEE Main.

2. JEE Advanced.

Lets take your example. If a candidate has appeared for board exams of 10+2 in 2015 then he/she will be eligible for JEE Main in 2015, 2016 and 2017 but he/she will be eligible for JEE Advanced in 2015 and 2016 only.

Hence, you are not eligible for JEE Advanced in 2017 as there are two attempts only.
