Can I apply directly for JEE Advanced based on JEE Main 2016 score?
Dear Sir/Mam,
If I appear for JEE advanced 2017, after appearing in 2016, then do I have to Qualify in Jee main as well or I will be directly eligible for Advanced? |

No, it will not be possible to apply directly for JEE Advanced 2017 based on JEE Main 2016 score.
Eligibility criteria to apply for JEE Advanced exam 2017 are as under :- -The candidate must have qualified in JEE Main 2017. -The candidate belonging to open category must have born on or after October 1, 1991 and SC/ST/PwD candidate should have born on or after October 1, 1987 . -Date of birth mentioned in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will be considered as correct. -The candidate should have passed 12th with at least 50% marks in aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Bio-technology as optional subjects . -The candidate who have passed 12th class or equivalent in the year 2015 or 2016 or appearing for 12th examination in 2017 are eligible for the exam . -A candidate can appear in JEE Advanced only two times consecutively. |

No, you are not directly eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2017 examination based on JEE Main 2016 examination score. You must have to appear, qualify and secure top 1,50,000 rank among all category candidates in JEE Main 2017 examination to be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2017 examination. You must have secured at least 75% (70% for SC/ST) marks in your 12th standard to be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination.

Yes, you have to qualify in Main examination in 2016 to appear for Advance stage.
Advance stage is considered as second stage of examination and it is necessary to appear and qualify in Main in same year to appear for Advance. There are maximum two attempts to appear for Advance. |
