Re: Can I become an IAS officer if my eye sight is low?
I have mentioned this many times on this forum that candidates applying for the Indian Administrative Service should not worry about the physical criteria.
Whether your height is short, you are underweight or eyesight. All these do not matter for the Indian Administrative Service. These things come into play if the candidate is applying for the Indian Police Service. Since you are applying for IAS, there is no need to worry about the eyesight or any other physical criteria. You are eligible for the IAS even if comes in the category of Physically Handicapped. This pretty much should answer your concerns. Now focus on clearing the Civil Services Examination. You will be able to apply for exam next year. IAS Eligibility 1. Indian nationals are accepted to apply for IAS. 2. Bachelor degree is required to apply for the exam. 3. There is no criteria for percentage. 4. Candidate should not be younger than 21 years. 5. Anyone older than 30 can not appear. 6. OBC, however can appear upto 33 years. 7. SC/ST candidate can appear upto 35 years. 8. There are no physical criteria. Selection Procedure 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Personal Interview Attempts 1. General candidate can appear 4 times. 2. The limit for OBC is 7 times. 3. There is no limit for SC and ST. |
