IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .IAS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IAS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

Yes, B.tech students are eligible for IAS Exam.

Age criteria for IAS exam for general candidate is 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is there as per govt rule .

As far as it is concerned about eligibility about IAS exam which is the most sought exam in India, yes you can write for this exam, the thing is that you should passed your btech from any recognized university.

Here is the criteria for it:-

Eligiblity:-

>>Must be an Indian national attaining 21 years of age.

>>Graduate can apply no matter what division you are.

>>For general candidates, attempt are restricted to 4, while for OBC 5 years and SC/ST- no limit.

Pattern of exam:-

>> The exam consists of 3 phases:- CSAT, written exam and then interview.

If you want to pass this exam, you have to a systematic coaching and hard work, do self study,,nad have good materials.

Any Graduate from a recognised University can apply for Civil Services Examination. So don't worry about your qualification if you want to become a IAS officer.

So start your preparation for Civil Services if you are serious about it. After completion of your Engineering you can apply for Civil Services Examination when the notification are out.

The only other thing that you have to take care is the age criteria. If your age is according to the criteria then only you can apply for it.

For General Category age limit is between 21 to 30 years.

Second most important thing is that you should satisfy the age eligibility criteria that is :

General Age Limit is 21-30 years. but there is relaxation is available for reserved category....

Relaxation on Upper Age:
